Written and dissolved

Written and dissolved

We walked the green shores and falls /of Ingleton. /You fought as a gladiator /at a giant arena./I longed and trusted./You appeared at the door/still shivering with steam/and anger floating around,/there you stood in front of me./With one look I understood/Death you had beaten./I kissed you, a first and last time/in our eternity where bodies hold no names./Your lips tasted of salt and sweat,/opening them, blood and straw/filled my hungry soul./Your eyes, afterwards, were the warmest /blue I have ever seen./I woke up, cried your absence/and bite myself to find once more /at last at least you, past,/memorable, unforgettable,/written and dissolved in/ my own blood.
